About Me!

Hello families and welcome!

My name is Chelsee Ritz and I am so excited to be part of the Carmichaels Area Elementary Center team as a Pre-K teacher. More importantly, I am THRILLED to be your teacher! When it comes to my students it is significant to know ALL about you, but first I’m going to tell you a few things about me. J

I was raised in Carmichaels, PA and I am the youngest daughter to my great, supportive parents. I also have a wonderful sister, Ashlee. When I graduated from Carmichaels Area School District in 2009, I decided to continue my education at Waynesburg University…GO YELLOW JACKETS! I majored in Early Childhood Education and couldn’t wait to graduate and start teaching. I was hired at Carmichaels Elementary as a First grade teacher in June 2014. Once a Mike, Always a Mike! I am currently in my fourth year of teaching, although this is my third year as a Pre-K teacher. I am forever grateful to be blessed with the opportunity to instill values in tomorrow’s future and begin this educational journey with your child. Along with teaching, I’m part of the elementary school’s technology committee to better serve the use of technology throughout our school.

In my classroom, I believe that educating children is one of the greatest accomplishments a person can make in life. The reason is it such an accomplishment is because it is such a challenge. It takes patience, time, and most of all desire, because when you see the look of success in a child’s eyes, it is well worth it. I am a HUGE believer of hands-on learning which helps children retain information and presents learning in a more meaningful way. I enjoy and highly advise parents to communicate with me throughout the school year. I use an online classroom behavior management tool called ClassDojo. ClassDojo offers a communication component which allows parents to message me directly through the app as well as monitoring your child’s daily progress. The more we communicate regarding your child’s progress and behavior, the better the school year we’ll have.

Outside of my classroom, I enjoy the outdoors (no matter what season), reading, spending time with my family and friends, and last but not least exercising..running is my favorite!

I look forward to working with you throughout the school year. I will continue to update my page with additional information to help make our year better. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need anything!
