About Me

Erin Virgili M.S., CCC-SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist

Hi! My name is Erin Virgili, Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) at Carmichaels Elementary Center. I am licensed by the board of Pennsylvania and have my Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language Hearing Association. I am very excited to be part of the Carmichaels Area School District Special Education Team. I grew up in this community and continue to live here with my husband and three children.  I am dedicated to making a difference in the lives of the children in the district.

In 2006, I went back to school to obtain my Masters Degree in Communication Disorders after working as a Dental Hygienist for 16 years. I received my Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from California University of Pennsylvania in 2010. I have worked for the Carmichaels Area School District as a Speech and Language Pathologist since August 2014. Prior to my employment with CASD, I worked at Southwest Regional Medical Center, seeing both in and out patients and also with Early Intervention, treating 3-5 year old children. I have had the opportunity to professionally work in the areas of: Developmental Delays, Feeding/Oral Motor Disorders, Down Syndrome, Autism, Apraxia, Language-Based Literacy Disorders, Fluency Disorders, Medically Fragile Children, and Articulation/Phonological Disorders.  I love working one-on-one with little ones and seeing their speech and language progress. The excitement on their face when they realize they said a sound or word correctly is extremely rewarding. I have the best job in the school!

Once again, I am very proud to have the opportunity to provide speech and language therapy to students in our district. Please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns that you may have about your child’s speech and language.

"You can never tell what type of impact you may have on another's life by your actions...or lack of action. Try to make a difference in someone else's life today."
