About Me :D

Hello Friends and welcome! I am so glad you are here! When it comes to my students, I feel the more we learn about one another, the better! :D

My name is Maddie Loring (Snyder), and this is my sixth year in the Carmichaels Area School District. I am a 2007 graduate of Jefferson Morgan School District and received my degree in Elementary and Special Education from Waynesburg University in 2011. I am proud to be a Mighty Mike! I began my career as a Special Education teacher in the High School, and transitioned to the Elementary to teach in the Life Skills classroom. This is my fourth year as a Kindergarten Teacher at Carmichaels Elementary, and I am grateful to have the opportunity to instill the love of learning in our youth! In accordance with teaching, I am also the Yearbook Coordinator for the Elementary.

I reside on my family's third generation farm. My husband Wes and I reside with our sweet puppy Luna, and are expecting a new addition to our family in May of 2018! When I am not doing my favorite thing (teaching), I enjoy reading, spending time with my family and friends, baking and exercising.

In my classroom, I believe that learning should be a fun and meaningful process. I am a HUGE fan of Charlie Brown, so my classroom is a Snoopy theme. I like to teach in a hands-on approach to provide children with meaningful ways and capabilities to learn. I enjoy communicating and utilize an app in my classroom entitled Class Dojo. In the menu on the right, you can find the link for Class Dojo to learn more about the features of the website. Class Dojo provides a great outlet for us to communicate with one another as well as monitoring your child's daily progress. In accordance with Class Dojo, I send home a daily behavior calendar to show you how your child performed for the day. I believe that the more we communicate, the better school year your child will have. And believe me, I want your child to have an AMAZING first year of school! :D

My favorite activity in school is our Mad Science Fridays! I tell the students that I am a teacher by day, but when I go home, I am a Mad Scientist (pictured below). Almost every Friday, we complete a science experiment and learn how to create a hypothesis to determine what will happen. It's a wonderful time and we have a blast!

Thank you for stopping by, and I will continue to update my page with additional resources and information. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need anything!
