Elementary Computer Class provides students with an opportunity to acquire the skills needed to make computers a relevant tool for their learning experiences. Students will receive instruction needed to use various software applications used in today’s society as well as the classroom.
Students will practice age appropriate skills from the following list of topics:

● Google Docs and Google Slides A) Creating documents and presentations B) Identifying parts of the Google App window C) Basic text editing D) Naming and saving documents E) Inserting pictures, clipart, and shapes F) Add animations and transitions
● Gmail A) Send and receive email B) Create an address book C) Proper email etiquette
● Google Chrome A) Internet safety B) Moving around a Web page C) Find text D) Understanding hypertext links & URL’s E) Move backward and forward F) Use bookmarks G) Search by subject, keywords
● Google Sheets A) Enter text B) Sort data C) Use auto sum D) Create simple charts
● Keyboarding A) Manipulate age appropriate computer-aided keyboard instruction software to achieve a set words per minute speed. Programs may include: ➔ Typing.com, Dance Mat Typing, and other internet based websites
Students are permitted to bring in ear buds to use instead of wearing the black headphones. We will store them in Ziploc baggies labeled with their name and can be taken home at the end of the year. |
